Trio Hugo Mayrand


The Hugo Mayrand Trio draws its inspiration at once from modern jazz and the traditional rhythms of brazilian music (samba, choro, bossa nova).avatars-000140429852-cvtix5-t500x500

Hugo Mayrand began his career in 2010 as an arranger and orchestrator. He notably worked for Michel Cusson and Martin Léon on several movie soundtracks. He also wrote some orchestrations for popular artists like Julien Mineau, Philémon Cimon and Philippe B.

Reconnecting with his guitar, Hugo Mayrand formed his trio in 2014 and finally revealed his own original repertoire. He won in 2015 the first prize of the prestigious Jazz en rafale contest, along with the audience award of the Festi Jazz International de Rimouski. He launched his first album Phasme in 2016.
